Phystrack App - Adherence to physiotherapy

Adherence to Physiotherapy treatment has implications on treatment cost and effectiveness. Up to 70% of patients do not stick to the treatment plan. Another study found that 15% of patients do not return for a follow-up appointment. Psychological barriers eg. low self-efficacy, lack of motivation, or even social-demographic barriers can prevent patients from adhering to treatment. The physiotherapists, on the other hand, have no reliable quantitative data to track patient's progress.
There are existing apps and programs that remind patients to exercise and provide support through accurate videos and pictures. The gap that Phystrack fills in, is a bi-directional tool that collects objective quantitative data that the PT can use while providing feedback and motivation to the user. The app aims at helping PTs gather patient data and track progress, have a more accurate diagnosis and follow up with treatment plans with greater efficacy, and provides faster improvements in patients if adhered to.
This project was born at Hatching Health 2017 Hackathon. The team members: Preet Gandhi, Albert Chau, Cole Spooner, Tatiana Maria, Jessica Jun, Tamar av-shalom and myself.
