Variant of the Akzidenz

Personal project for creating a variant of the Akzidenz Grotesk, this typography was designed in 1896 by Günter Gerhard Lange, for the Hermann Berthold cast of Berlin, this typeface is the forerunner of Helvetic. It had an enormous success and soon it was imitated by several foundries. Its name comes from the word used in Germany to designate the non-serial fonts of the 19th century "Grotesk" and the term used for the types used by commercial printers "Akzidenzschrift." It was used as a type of text in Europe, especially in Switzerland until it was supplanted by the universe and Helvetic, although in recent years it made a new comeback.
