Shackleton Centenary Zither Banjo

The Shackleton Centenary Zither Banjo was built as an updated, more modern and playable replica of the Windsor Artiste rescued by Shackleton and his men from their stricken ship The Endurance. The banjo went on to be "vital mental medicine" keeping up the crews morale during their battle for survival. The instrument was designed and built in 6 weeks to a tight deadline in order to have it ready to be played by Winston Marshall of Mumford and sons with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Air studios in London. The instrument was played as part of a symphony which is a musical representation of Shackleton's journey. You can find it here:  https://www.stop-and-fix.com/
