Interpretive Thinking: Packaging

Interpretive Thinking: Packaging
My project assignment is a packaging design for a silk product from ancient China. I used my interpretative and spatial thinking to decide on a product for the topic. I wanted to come up with a silk product which was interesting and visually attractive. Head scarfs became a fashion statement in China and Silk has always been associated with ancient China. An innovative pure silk head scarfs is my product and women my identified target audience. My aim was that women should feel empowered and beautiful when wearing the silk head scarfs. My name brand is Jiao as it means empowerment and women could relate to it.

In China Silk roads were travelled, long distances and through woods to distribute and sell silk products. My inspiration for the patterns on the head scarfs came from natural elements and colours from these Chinese woods travelled during ancient times.
