The illustration and cd design avoids common references for the Christmas season such as snowflakes and evergreen trees. Instead, the illustration hints at Middle Eastern iconography that also resonates with the setting of Lake Avenue Church in the San Gabriel Foothills of Los Angeles County. The lines, shapes, and textures from the initial illustration were later adopted to serve as elements in the branding for Lake Avenue’s advent services and concerts.
