Three standalone book covers for customer service expert Jeff Toister. I also designed the interiors for the second and third. Although not a series, I recommended that we establish a common visual language to help his books be recognizable and distinctive, especially on Amazon.com.
A cover design for Georgetown University Press for which I used words and type to represent the subject matter of language.
A cover design for APA Books, using a released, historical image from The Wellcome Trust.
A cover design for CQ Press using a "pulp fiction" genre illustration for this book that uses popular culture to make politics relevant to the reader.
A cover design for CQ Press, reference division, using a NASA image of a hurricane as seen from space. I rotated the image from what would normally be expected to imply a "sword of Damocles" type of danger.
Book design for The Bravewell Collaborative, upon the sunsetting of their philanthropic foundation promoting integrative medicine. Cover, interior, and epub design.
Cover design for CQ Press combining vintage engravings with industrial photographs.
Cover design for CQ Press. The information divisions on the back make a "7" in reference to it being the seventh edition of this political science book.
A cover design for CQ Press which sourced a stock photo of President Obama in a white shirt and red tie. The image lent itself to a red "slash" which references the idea of a negative action.
A cover for CQ Press designed in the spirit of a "fight poster."
A cover design for Georgetown University Press on organ donation.
A cover design for Georgetown University Press which uses minimal imagery and classical type to evoke the idea of luxury.
A cover design for CQ Press using a heavily processed photo of a small town courthouse paired with 18th century type for a book about the American judicial system.
A cover design for APA Books on school safety.
A cover design for CQ Press on multimedia journalism.
Series design for a five-set encyclopedia of political science. Each volume used a unique color identifier while the volume block moved in sequence over the five cover images on the cover.
A cover design for CQ Press on the subject of opinion polling.
A cover design for APA Books for a reference book on rehabilitation psychology.
A cover design for Georgetown University Press on the federal workforce. A released image from the Library of Congress collections shows the terra cotta colored roofs of the buildings that make up Federal Triangle in Washington, DC. An antique map plan of the city is used as texture behind the title block.
A cover design for CQ Press, reference division, on the politics of water. An historic image of Lake Meade was used to represent the human involvement in our water policy.
A cover design for Georgetown University Press.
A cover design for International Food Policy Institute on the role of pulses (beans, chickpeas, lentils, peas, etc.) in India, from living crops to dried seed.
