Who is Alice?

Alice is a 23 years old girl from Malaysia. She is pretty, cute and generous. Everybody loves her and she is the most generous girl ever because she always share food with people. The way she showed her love is to cook for the person that she loved and care about. She loves to eat, and cook! She come from a strong and traditional culture Chinese family, and her mother tongue is Chinese.

What is 《Secret of Alice —— Double Chin of Caifan》?

This is Alice's personal project. Alice uses food to talk about the value and the perspectives she sees from life, and love for her family. The whole book is using Chinese to finish.

What is "Caifan"?

"Caifan" is a know term for mixed veggie rice in Malaysia & Singapore. Caifan consists of a lot of different type of vegetable or meat mixed together, like life.

Why "Caifan"?

Caifan for Alice is; daily necessary, hard to live without caifan because it is cheap and fills her stomach well. It is also cheap for her (as a foreign student). Just like Caifan, life is like a lot of different things mixed together, becoming "life". Every story (Caifan) can be different from one another. Some moments are 'sweet', some are 'bitter'. Just as Caifan is with different flavoured dishes mixed together for different individuals.

Why Double Chin?

Double Chin has been following Alice since 1994 until now but she haven't gotten rid of it... Recently she found out the reason why she has the double chin. Read the book for the answer ;)

Why luminous pink?

If you know Alice well, she always wear black and white but her hidden self loves pink colour. Her room, wardrobe, bed sheet, table, is all pink but she never showed this side of her to the public. But now she think that is right timing to show her inner self. Luminous pink is bright enough like Alice. In Alice, we believe.

The paper plate & stickers and set of card. The public can participate to make their own "Caifan" using the stickers which included: fried chicken, sunny side-up egg yolk, broccoli, fried meat, pan-fried fish and black soya sauce pork belly and cutleries.
