Using Indesign and Photoshop I designed a magazine spread for a hypothetical magazine article. This project was a class assignment in which we had to make up an article and design a magazine spread.

My hypothetical article is about a "Box of Creativity". The article is essentially talking about this product which provides machine automated creative solutions for businesses. I focused on designing the article in a way which appeals to my audience and draws attention to the subject matter.

Since my audience is business people looking for efficient and creative solutions, I decided to organize the spread in a way which reflects efficiency, speed, ambition and business.

I used many vertical lines in the design of the article to emphasize the visual representation of speed and efficiency. I decided to primarily use the color yellow on the page because it not only draws attention to the page, it also adds to the overall feeling of energy and efficiency to the design.I focused on using strong gemoetric shapes to complement the title of the article and name of product, as well as to associate with the strong geometric shapes which are often paired with industry, business, skyscrapers...I choose san-serif font because it feels industrial as well as it deliver's a punchier impact on the page.

The overall lay out of the text and imagery is meant to be both dynamic and interesting, as well as clear and informative. In thinking from the perspective of my hypothetical audience, if they are focused on business and efficiency, I assume that they would want to read through the article in a way which is fast / gets the main idea across in the quickest way possible. While at the same, I feel creating something that is visually interesting or dynamic is essential for any hypothetical audience within our society - the over stimulation of other media will drown out designs that don't have enough punch or visual intrigue.
