London Road Fire Station Living Memories intends to relive the history and stories behind the iconic London Road Fire Station. The identity uses shapes derived from the angle of the triangular structure of the building in different ways, referencing the idea that the space has been used for different purposes throughout its lifetime.
Despite being empty in its current state, the building itself is far from empty of meaning. The advertising poster for the project places type in the negative space of the silhouette of the building, to suggest the idea of meaning in empty spaces.
Illustrations produced for a publication celebrating the long and varied history of the fire station. Imagery is created using solely the shapes derived from the building, demonstrating how the same space has been used in different ways.
The publication produced for the exhibition takes the form of a dual-purpose booklet/poster, referencing how the building has changed throughout time. The accompanying typographic foldout uses a layout that changes according to the angles and shape of the building.
