The Siri of Knowledge - Interactive Story Online Safety

The Siri of Knowledge is the first in a planned series of Interactive stories for primary school children. The aim with these stories is to teach children lessons about internet safety. The stories are based on Celtic tales, which are taught at a young age in Irish schools, giving children a familiarity with the storyline. Each story would focus on a different aspect of Internet safety, the Siri of Knowledge focuses on being careful what you believe online. As Irish primary schools wouldn't necessarily have iPads/tablets, and definitely would not have one for each student, the app is designed to be responsive and work on whatever digital media is available to the school. The programme also includes a workbook, which can be completed by the children in addition to the game and also be used to keep a section of the class busy while another section make use of the limited digital resources.
The use of the fish and water imagery is reference to the Celtic tale, The Salmon of Knowledge, on which this story is based. Fish are used throughout the game as a motivational tool.
