Wireless Transmitter

On my first year at Rosemount, I asked naive questions one does who is unfamiliar with the industry practices. One of them was why sensors were still being connected to instruments by long cables in large scale industrial applications when wireless technology was already so mature. The short answer was that corporate-wide standards had to be established first and it took another division an additional 6 years to make that happen. The resulting flagship product developed by my team was Rosemount Analytical's first wireless instrument shown below.

Engineering Challenges:
• Water Ingress of front panel after 3 hour soak at -40 degrees and impact test.
• Rotatable front panel & Antenna by 90 degrees depending on cable orientation
• Maintaining Pressure and Alignment on battery with Screw on back cover
• Preventing galling of threads on back cover
• Sealing the front and rear chambers

• Small Green: Display Board
• Blue: Protective Cover
• Large Green: Main Control Board
• Yellow: Terminal Board
• Black: Battery
