Under the pressure of social media, women want to look as beautiful and perfect as
possible, often by using plastic surgery. As a result, they are no longer ‘real’.
Sometimes they even start to look like plastic (Barbie)dolls.
In this series I want to convey the natural female body, with all it’s beautiful imperfections.
I styled the model by using plastic to make the connection to the physical changes that
have not been made in this case. By using strange poses, I want to show the flexibility
of the body.
This beautiful is the natural body with all its shapes; A masterpiece that you do not
need to change.
The photos are made in a studio with daylight. For selecting, I used Lightroom. I have
also adapted exposure, contrast and colour in Lightroom. A few spots of the clothing
and background are retouched in Photoshop; the skin hasn’t been modified in any way.
I exhibited this series in my second year of Photography at Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam.
