Webdesign - Vermeer Brasil

This was the biggest challenge I've faced as an UX/UI Designer & Full-stack Developer at Jota Group. The client, Vermeer Brasil, is a branch of a multi-national company, and the site would have to feature a lot of content.

The platform of choice was Wordpress, which I was already familiar with, so I've used my custom theme development framework for this project as well, that with it's modular fashion, allowed me to tackle this giant website.

Designwise, I've followed their brand manual to keep it consistent with their parent company, still giving them an edgy and modern look. The main challenge that they are facing is that they are entering a market were the Vermeer name is still unknown, so we had to speak boldly and with confidence to the target audience, to introduce the brand to Brazil.

The whole project took 3 months of development, and I was the sole designer and developer involved. Overall, it was an amazing experience, where I had to take my organization and coding even skills further.
3 different prototypes were present, all following their brand guidelines. The prototypes were developed in Adobe XD, which is an invaluable tool for presentation and client approval process.
In the first prototype, the solution for the desktop navigation bar was presented, that after much discussion and planning, was approved as final. The main idea was to reduce the click quantities to reach a page or a product, compared to their competitors websites.
Also, the solution for the responsive content in tablets and mobile devices was also presented, with a fullscreen menu navigation.
The second prototype was darker, with a transparent navigation bar and a fullscreen featured post as a hero image, along with the blog news and horizontal scrolldown.
The client opted for a mix of the two prototypes, and you can check the result below.
This is how the final website looks today. The client has full control over the content, and the navigation bar listing is generated via custom taxonomy of the custom product post type. Everything was tailored to their needs, including the Wordpress dashboard.
Each category of machines has their own feature page, with it's own custom header image, were the machines are listed in the same fashion as in the navigation bar, showing one featured machine per category.
The individual product page was also custom tailored with their needs and demands. They specifically asked for 1 to 2 featured videos, a maximum of 6 feature images in the gallery, and 1 catalog product. And every page features a quote form that autofills the machine type and name for the user, also a related content section at the end.
Individual posts can be accessed from the main page, from the Vermeer News side bar. They all can have a feature imaged and related content as well, with full control of the content.
Also, the site has a used products section, were the content can be filtered by several categories, like date of publishing, price, year, built for their exact needs.
Also, the client can create custom pages and featured them in the navigation bar, with custom image headers and full control over the content as well.
Several other sections of the site received custom view treatment, product support being one as well. Depending on the section, it shows featured training videos, pictures, and event scheduling. Also, an event schedule was built for the client, as request.

The site is fully connected to metrics and SEO services, from Google, Facebook and other social sites, as our client has an inside SEO department that is currently feeding and improving the content daily.
