Without Words is an archive of my emotional journey – a personal relationship in the form of data visualization
This project was conceived and realised over 4 weeks.
This project is a self-documented data visualisation of a relationship I had over the course of 4 years. The sensitive nature of relationships has always been difficult to talk about. Therefore my experiences and emotions were conveyed through the use of communicative symbols instead.

There was a great sense of cathartic release throughout the process whilst curating data and information from documented memories, text messages, and writings.
Circles as symbols carry the meaning of perfection and a state of wholeness. The variations of these circles represent a different emotion and state of mind which convey the fluctuating states of the relationship at certain points in time.

The use of translucent papers allowed a subtle peek through the layers of time, with each individual page in the booklet representing a month in the year. The booklet was designed to be in a hand-held size to provide a physical sense of intimacy as the reader browses through the narrative calendar.
Overview of the emotional calendar in A1 size.
The end of a journey is a start to a new beginning.
