The research project "colunga - rural renaissance" is about the abandon of old rural buildings in Italy and how they can be used again maybe with a different purpose.
My MA thesis project is the initiation of a project of reuse, in particular an old abandoned farmer house. For doing so, I need to understand what is the current situation in Italy about this issue and if there are already ongoing projects in this field.
During the field research, I have investigated on projects in Italy that have re-established a connection with a ruined building, both in the urban and in the rural landscape. I have selected few examples that I think are quite interesting for the project I am going to do. This is the visual comparison among these case studies, places that offer a wide range of activities and services.*
