The Perception of Design

The visualization investigates the online perception of design in 15 Countries emerged as the ones more careful about the theme. The result is a set of images returned when we search on Google Images the term 'design' associated to each Country analysed, for example "design italiano", "british design", "deutsch design". For each country have been analysed the first 200 images, 3 thousand overall, then grouped according to the category of design the subject of the image belongs to. Images have been normalized with the same size and organized in a halo around the respective Country. The longer the ray, the more the category is associated to the term design.
