Crafts

Back in 2015 I had a few classes on a pottery atelie. I went completely wowed by the affection, time, care and these mixed feelings that are projected in each piece created. It is kinda crazy how there's a delicate and secret life before these objects are finished. I couldn't imagine all of these processes there were to each one could be done. But then I did.

Cosmo is this little universe of simbols that are in my head shaped in the physical world. They are basic symbols, objects, and trys - and not all of them went completely right. There are mistakes, flaws, misshapes, errors. It goes back to the same way of when i started drawing: all these flaws i'm taking as a positive aspect of what i want to do and the beauty of it. I believe it.

The spoons were my first go-to ideia when i started doing classes. The representation of it, with this child-like aspect was something i very much relate to. At first they were supposed to all look the same, but obviously it didnt go as planned  and i was like "let's do this" and it was like 11 spoons in a row. there are the taller, the smaller, the heavier, but each one ended how they wanted to be.

Other thing i wanted to do was something with some kind of human aspect. So this ideia of inner altar happened. The idea was to create something that was being filled of something you want to keep, cherish, protect. There is the base, an open body, a belly that worked as covering shell and two masks. One external and the other internal.

And these are Horrorosinhas (something like 'the little ugly' but in a cute way), a series of ceramic pendants.

Thank you!
