A collection of nostalgia moments
Nostalgia is much more than mere reminiscing, it is a warm, fuzzy emotion that we feel when we think about fond memories from our past.
Singapore is one of the most stressful countries in the world. Being constantly stressed can lead to lower immunity, depression, poor sleep and high blood pressure.

According to recent studies, it has shown that not only does nostalgia helps in increasing self-esteem, combat loneliness, making people feeling more optimistic about the future, it is often used to cope with negative mental states. It is reported to be good for the mind and soul by giving meaning, reducing feelings of depression and decreasing alienation and loneliness.

This project aims to evoke/bring back nostalgia moments from the past as a form of therapy, for Singaporean to take a break from the hectic lifestyle, slowing down their pace and relax.

The ultra-rapid changes in Singapore have created a rapid rise in anxiety and feelings a loss of connection within Singaporean.
Not only does nostalgia helps Singaporean to relive the past and strengthen their sense of belonging to Singapore, it also helps to heightened younger generations' sense of heritage and raises their cultural awareness.

Those Years is an annual nostalgia event, with different theme conducted every year, aiming to helps Singaporean relive the moments, strength family bonding, preserve culture and strength their sense of belonging to Singapore.

Nostalgia event’s theme(1st year): 90s Games. 
Location: Secondary School, where we spend most of our childhood at.
Points earned is based on the difficulty level of the game.
One star is equivalent to one point. 
Two stars are equivalent to 2 points. 
Games with higher points require more player to join.
Points earned can be exchanged for gifts or a chance at the lucky draw, encouraging children to try out as many games as possible.

Board Game
The board game serves as a sneak peek of the games in the event.
 It is designed in the format of monopoly, 90s games. In each box, there is an illustration of the game, the location where the games it will be conducted and the points for each game.



Styrofoam plane
Styrofoam plane is one of the popular 90s game. A styrofoam cut out and a sticker is included in the packaging encouraging the participant to design and assemble their own plane. The participant can bring their styrofoam plane to the event and join the competition.

Paper Character
A paper character with different characters is included in the invitation box, representing the different character in our neighborhood, such as the Kopitiam uncle, the baby sister and the friendly granny. A variety of characters is provided for the family member to conduct the games together. ​​​Due to the advance in technology and hectic lifestyle, family members are not spending quality time together as they are constantly spending their time on their phone, which leads to a lack of topic and genuine conversation. This project hopes to bring family members together, participate in the event and create a conversation.

Cards
The participant will be issued a card with points indicated after they completed a game. After accumulating enough points, they can head to the prize booth to collect their gifts.The name of the game and instructions are indicated at the bottom of the card, which helps the participant to conduct the activities at home after the event.

Continuation 
Family members will be able to conduct the games at home even after the event ended. The rules are simple, whichever game that the player (paper character) landed on, they will need to complete the game before moving on. If they are unsure of how to play the games, they can refer to the instruction on the card, or simply ask their parent or grandparent about it.
