Chevron Conference Centre

Chevron Conference Centre
Chevron Plaza, Calgary, AB
Project Goal: To convert a space used for storage into a Conference Centre with tele-presense capabilities, allowing various parties to be “present” without travelling, thereby reducing carbon-footprint. As well as, eliminating necessity to rent off-site facilities, for company’s large-group gatherings. At the same time, allowing multiple groups to gather in the same space, without interference to each other, by providing soundproof operable partitions for space-separation.
Challenges:
· Unusual floor-plate presented challenges from space-planning perspective. Especially for design of spacious, barrier-free washrooms.
· Short time-lines were challenging in getting materials, finishes and other products on-site, in time for project-completion.
Result: with great dedication of general contractor and collaboration of all members involved in the project, the project was delivered on time and under budget. The Centre was overbooked in the first week after the grand opening and to this day. This project, with its success story, jump-started other large scale renovations within the building.
Special thanks to our designers - Britney Paton and Janet Lewis for understanding design concept and helping with selection of appropriate materials, finishes and fixtures on a very tight time-schedule.
