Growing up in Chile during the regime of Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship was not easy. People all around me were being interrogated, harassed, tortured or even taken away if they were considered to be against his rule. A life of hiding and oppression that was ignored for so many years, everyone I knew had to keep a low profile to be secure.
