A catalog concept project for a gallery in Bandung called Wot Batu from Selasar Sunaryo.
What depicted here is a simple concept following the gallery's; a touch of natural elements in the stone texture combined with layers of digital brush strokes, representing in its essence the way human meddles with nature, leaving their prints,
carving into the earth their very existence.
“Batu adalah waktu”
Stone is time.
Wot Batu is an embodiment of
Sunaryo’s exploration of physical matters.
The most essential of which is stone.
In Wot Batu, we contemplate about the passage of time
the beginning of creation
when everything still existed
as a piece of unity.
The very meaning of Wot is ‘bridge’.
