This piece explores appropriation within design.

There is a very fine line between plagiarism and appropriation. Designers are influenced, either consciously or subconsciously, by everything around them. This is an important part of how designers visually communicate. I believe if your intentions are good and your work is transformative then you have correctly appropriated.

I wanted to create a piece that challenged perceptions in relation to appropriation. Although a piece of work may look like something you have seen before, there may be more to it. By picking instantly recognisable images and using them to tell a different story, I hope to show that not everything is as it may initially seem. A closer exploration after the superficial, first viewing may be revealing.
