Wedding Invite of an Arsenal Fan
Swati + Freddy ~ 10th December 2010
My wife and I are gooners through and through. Never, ever, miss a live game. Hope to save and travel to see The Arsenal in London once every three years.
There were two symbolic aspects to our wedding invitation. The design motifs, from the light checkered watermark to the meandering border, are taken from the floor tiles of our room. And, the only religious insignia we were willing to accommodate, was the cannon in the crest of The Arsenal!

The meandros ~ an ancient decorative pattern used by the Greeks, is a common floor-tile design in many an old Zoroastrian home, in Bombay. This very meandering border pattern runs right along the edge of the room Swati and I live in.
