Cellfish is an interactive sculpture that questions our smartphone-obsessed culture and the way adults project their consumerist ideals onto children.

The piece is a "cellfie monster" that represents users of selfie sticks around the world. 

The different shoes on each of the sculpture's legs represent the variety of trendy styles parents might project onto their children: a cowboy boot, a pink patent leather heel, a Nike Air Jordan, a Chelsea boot, a Doc Marten boot, and a Yeezy Boost 350 sneaker. Each of these shoes has been miniaturized for children who have little or no idea about the various stereotypes placed on these shoes. My intention is to raise awareness about how children are bombarded with technology and consumerist ideals from a young age and to question how this might affect the development of future generations.
