I worked on a logo design for an adventure blogger, Camilla "Cambo" Kernes. Below is the final logo used followed by some other samples. 

We sat down to discuss the type of logo she wanted, and one thing was clear... Wood, texture and grunge would be the theme. I explored some elements of branded / burnt wood and incorporated some other "outdoor" elements like the tree rings or running shoes - as you'll see in the drafts.
