Halo UI Fan Concept
Being an extreme Halo fan and having a passion for UI, I decided to branch out and try my hand at some console UI designs for Halo. Below are the results.
Start Menu
Main Menu
Adding the Friends roster to the right allows for quick access to invite those that are already playing Halo.
Matchmaking Menu
Active Roster
Tapping X will activate the roster menu, allowing the user to toggle between Friends, Recent Players and Spartan Company Members.
Player Inspect
While in the roster, tapping Y will expand a dialog that provides more information about the currently hovered player. Tapping Y again will close the dialog.
Playlist Selections
Tab between different playlist groups with the Left and Right Bumpers. Select the playlist you wish to play while seeing more details about the playlist on the right. Selecting the playlist will automatically taking you to the playlist and start matchmaking.
Custom Colors
While on the color option for changing your Spartan appearance, the player is given the option to change armor or HUD colors by using the Left Thumbstick.
Armor / Visor Customization
REQ points were introduced in Halo 5 and provided a way for players to unlock armor pieces through random REQ Packs. While wishing to continue with the REQ system, I feel it would also be beneficial for players if they are able to purchase specific armor pieces with REQ points alone. Packs can then be opened for weapon skins, emblems, and Warzone Power Weapons.
Selecting a Visor also has the option to apply the color of the visor as the color of your HUD in game.
