Unconventional book design of Italo Calvino's "Invisible Cities."
Italo Calvino writes of Marco Polo's conversations with Kublai Khan, in which he describes to the emperor the foreign cities and exotic lands to which he has journeyed. The cities, though imaginary, bring to light philosophical questions about humanity's desires, fears, memories, and questions. The design demonstrates the reflective qualities of the Marco Polo's stories. The book can only be read by it's wearer. The title, "Invisible Cities", lives on the bust of the dress, and is only legible looking into a mirror. It is a personal discovery of the cities hidden beneath the folds of the dress.
