This series of five prints addresses the conflict between the rapid modernization of China and the nostalgic feelings of the elders. Old photos of my grandparents were collected and then transferred using intaglio ink, a process to trace back the old times and reserve their faded memories. With this project, I want to reveal the sense of loss, estrangement and dislocation of the last generation of people, who are becoming the strangers and outsiders in the new era of China.

He used to be young and ambitious.
He enjoys his time at home.​​​​​​​
That was the last time he went to visit the Great Wall.
