I started with some packaging inspiration. I like the simplicity and naturalness of this design. I also like the unique packaging.
On this package inspiration I really liked the black box with q pop of color. It's so different from all of the whit light bulb boxes you see at the store. I also really like the simplicity of the complete box.
This was my biggest inspiration for this project. I love the flat design of the bulb and the box. It can be packed easily and the bulb looks g lot stronger than a traditional bulb.The package is simple and so is the all around design.
This was my brainstorming and some sketching. The square bulbs at the top were my first idea but I wanted to use a shape that could work in existing fixtures. The round flat design ended up working really well and I decided to use a magnetic ring on the backside for easy install. I also thought the bulb cad have an adapter magnetic ring with the bulb threads on one side, also so you wouldn't need to Spend additional money on new fixtures. The bulb would be a "smart" or "bright" bulb that would connect to an app.
The app would communicate with the bulb and notify you when it's getting close to needing a change. when you open the app you would see a circular chart displaying real time life of the bulb. It would also store all of the houses bulbs under different room tabs that you would name. It would have q simple navigation and contain links to the "About us" page and the "Contact us"page. The contact us page would use text boxes user input information for them to ask questions and get answers quickly and efficiently. It would have our general information along with the website on the bottom of every page.
The "About Us" section would have information about the bulb and the companies story. On the back of the box is a key part to the simple packaging. It has a QR code on the back this is there so the customer can look up all the information, that's normally on the box, throughthe QR code you will get to the "About Us" page on the app.
This would be the 2D version of the bulb and how it would look laying flat.
This is my final design packaging. It's different than other light bulb packages in the store. I used a bright yellow bold font and a simple design. It has all the needed information on it and has a dear message.
