Heritage Walk Signage — Gold Coast

The pillar contained a series of stories and images curated by the local historical society. There were several distributed around the location of the walk.
The totem structure itself was custom designed and fabricated to allow each box to rotate independently. The design also allowed each box to be replaced separately should one be damaged.
The bottom box of the totem included information on the walk including an orientation map. The map was also reproduced in pamphlet form.
Over a hundred marker discs were inserted in the ground for directional guidance, to identify a landmark on the associated map, as well as the ability to show historic imagery relevant to a given location.
The system was extended to the nearby suburb of Labrador and the inclusion of interpretive blade signs.
