GAIA Airline wasfounded in Melbourne in 2010, we offers a boutique service for eco-friendlyconsumers to routes in Australia. We are partnered with several eco-resorts inNSW, VIC, WA, SA, QLD, NT and Tasmania therefore the consumer is purchasing aticket for entire holiday as opposed to simply the air travel.
GAIA Airline isaiming to become the most eco-friendly airline in Australia. Our cabins arecrafted from 100% recycled and sustainable materials and airline uniforms fromorganic cotton. We are also the first airline to offer a complete environmentallyaware service, we only provide organic food for the in-flight meal service andten percent of our eco-friendly holiday purchase will go towards the company’scarbon offset program and the consumer has the option to make a furthercontribution at the time of purchase.
Thename Gaia was chosen for our company because we believe it is the perfect namefor an eco-friendly airline company. According to Spangler (2000), Gaia is theprimal Greek titan personifying the Earth, the Greek version of "MotherNature". We believe this name is memorable and enable our company to standout from the crowd of airlines especially eco-friendly airlines. The name GAIAwill allows customers and others to develop a feeling that we are aneco-friendly airline and once they develop this kind of familiarity with ourcompany, we are not far to our objective.

The idea GAIAwas flash through my mind while thinking the appropriate name for the company,the design strategy of the logo is a woman holding the earth and after somebrainstorming the logo has been simplify to a circle and two hands shape. Thereason why the logo look like this is because it demonstrates that mother earthis holding our planet.
