Unexpected Reality of a Childhood Painting 2016

Unexpected Reality of a Childhood Painting Series.
Various artists that use surreal images have inspired this work, in particular Neo Rauch whose paintings have a personal history and political narrative. His compositions are strange like a child’s perspective of an adult world where unexplained things happen to reality; his paintings are riddles without solutions. I have also been inspired by Rene Daniel’s work that looks like models that are supposedly exhibition spaces but also look like abstract bow ties with paintings hanging within them. They look like a set design for performance or events, suggesting a space waiting for something to happen, where what is not visible becomes important. After finishing these three A1 size painting, i notice the subject of my painting became complex and mixture of global conflict and surreal dreamscape. To improve it, I simplified my painting by using tracing paper technique and choose appropriate image to construct new simplified series of painting and create an implication of child perspective of reality. I made three simplified painting on A3 size paper.
