logo design/branding for a music production company

The inspiration for this logo's thick lettering comes from the form of a vinyl record. The 'C' was based on this shape and then the DNA of this letter was carried through in the rendering of the 'L' letterform. The pattern within the mark is inspired by sound waves, the centre point of which also forms the dot on the 'i' in the word 'music'. The layout was also inspired by vintage record company logos, which tended to be constructed from thick, chunky letterforms.
