Hall Static Days with Dennis`s C2

After a brief stop we are back and in this number 5 we bring this Citroen C2 very well done by our friend Dennis.
The temperature of 5ºC degrees that was felt wasn`t enough to get us away from Mafra, the chosen site for another "The Hall Static Days", where we tried to camouflage in the wild and pick up this small kart in a really calm environment, because that was not easy to find while we were rolling on the streets on the way to the spot, because this car draw very attention.

Após uma breve paragem voltamos "á carga" e neste nº 5 trazemos uma base de Citroen C2 muito bem trabalhado pelo Dennis.

Os 5ºC de temperatura que se faziam sentir, não foram suficientes para nos afastar de Mafra, local escolhido para mais um "The Hall Static Days", onde nos tentámos camuflar na natureza e apanhar este pequeno Kart de forma mais calma e tranquila, pois não foi fácil circular sem chamar á atenção de quem passava.

This route was not easy, we can say that the C2 is a little close to the ground, and the tar was not nice to this fact.

"I always found the car really funny because is small and economic" (...) "this car is a SX pack"

From simple and common, to object of pride, this was the path of this car, which is now a strong daily ally to Dennis, always rolling very low as he himself describes it. (We confess that in something like 2 km we never heard a car shaving so many times, if it even stopped shaving)

O trajecto não foi de longe fácil, digamos que o C2 está um pouco próximo do solo, e o alcatrão não foi compreensivo com este facto.

"sempre achei piada ao carro por ser pequeno e económico" (...) "a versão é SX pack"

De simples e comum, a objecto de orgulho, foi este o trajecto deste carro, que é agora um forte aliado no dia-a-dia do Dennis, a rolar sempre muito baixo como o próprio descreve. (confessamos que num espaço de 2 km nunca ouvimos uma protecção de motor raspar tantas vezes, se é que alguma vez deixou de raspar)

We have often commented that it is difficult to permanently end a car, a project is constantly evolving, and as difficult as it may seem, there is always some details, some other parts that can add value to a long-lasting work.

"For me the car was with a good attitude that made people look and comment but something was missing"

"was a set of BBS RS, that's what C2 needed"

And it was! with a mint tone, those BBS were a great leap that made a car with a spectacular presence not only by the contrast of colors but also by the overall width that those rims give to the car. C2 is grown!

Acabamos por comentar muitas vezes que é difícil acabar definitivamente um carro, um projecto está em constante evolução, e por muito difícil que possa parecer, há sempre mais algum detalhe, mais alguma peça que pode vir acrescentar valor a uma obra de longa duração.

"para mim o carro estava com uma boa atitude que fazia as pessoas olhar e comentar mas faltava alguma coisa"

"eram uma BBS RS em 16, era isso que o C2 precisava"

E foi mesmo, aliadas a uma tonalidade Turquesa/Menta, estas BBS foram um grande salto para o carro se apresentar com uma presença espectacular, não só pelo contraste de cores mas também pela largura em geral que as jantes conferem ao carro. O C2 está crescido!

"Why static? Because at the time I already knew that I wanted the car really low"

As we already mention this Citroen rolls low, quite low ... something that is very important in the visual aspect of the car, even more after adding these BBS set that have given enough width to the car.Sometimes we forget, but it`s important to point out the courage of driving a car with this height to the ground, especially on the Portuguese roads where the holes are so many..

"porquê static? porque na altura já sabia que queria o carro baixinho"

Como já podemos referir este Citroen rola baixo, bastante baixo...algo que é muito importante no aspecto visual do carro, ainda mais após a colocação destas BBS que conferiram bastante largura ao carro.

Por vezes esquecemos, mas é importante salientar, a coragem necessária para conduzir um carro com esta altura ao solo, diariamente, contando com todas as dificuldades que se encontra, principalmente nas estradas Portuguesas, onde os buracos são uma constante.

"At the moment the car is daily, but hopefully soon it will be just for the weekends."

We discussed this during the morning, because it is really difficult to keep a high visual level when it is important to use the car every day, and here we talk about normal travel and travel needs, where we end up with our little door with "scratches".

We expect dennis to start using his C2 only on the weekend. He deserves!

Discutimos isto durante a manhã, porque é realmente difícil manter um nível estético alto quando é indispensável utilizar todos os dias o carro, e aqui falamos dos trajectos e necessidades de deslocação normais, onde acabamos por nos sujeitar a pequenos "toques" de porta e raspadelas, algo em que temos a certeza que muitos se revêm.

Esperamos que o Dennis tenha possibilidade de "encostar" o seu C2 para fim de semana, bem merece!

"I had a lot of help from my friends"

Well, what make us proud of, what we enjoy today, was in the past thought by us, but, with an important help of many friends and family.

It is curious to see sometimes, in some meetings, these friends and family commenting and explaining the projects with such a pride, and this is what the cars can also bring to us, the pleasure of sharing and mutual aid.

"tive bastante ajuda dos meus amigos"

Pois é, aquilo de que nos orgulhamos e do qual desfrutamos hoje, foi no passado pensado por nós, mas também teve a sua grande parte de ajuda de outras pessoas, aqui falamos de família e amigos.

É curioso ver ás vezes, em eventos ou pequenos encontros, estes amigos ou familiares a comentar e a explicar estes projectos com orgulho, sentido-os como seus, e é também isto que nos trazem os carros, a partilha e entreajuda.

"I think they should continue with the static days project because there are good projects in Portugal based on static suspension"

Of course this support is always important, even more, when so many projects are being developed with air suspension, we try to show what is being done in static, and we think we did it again!

For those who have already asked if we will only focused on static, our answer remains: for now yes! We want to finish a project in which we commit ourselves and define a goal of 15 cars, which does not prevent us from working on the next editions, because there are already things prepared. Coming soon!

Thanks to Dennis for the day, for the time, and above all for the dedication to this project of his Citroen C2, that is not much seen, with such a clean look in our country. It is never too much to point out that without the support of the owners, none of this would be possible.

"Acho que deviam continuar com o projecto static days porque há bons projectos nacionais em base static"

Claro que este apoio é sempre importante, ainda para mais, numa altura onde cada vez mais se propagam projectos com suspensão a ar, tentamos por isso mostrar o que de bom se faz em static, e pensamos que mais uma vez conseguimos!

Para quem já tem perguntado se apenas nos vamos centrar em base static, a nossa reposta continua a ser: para já sim! Queremos terminar um projecto com o qual nos comprometemos e definimos uma meta de 15 carros, o que não nos impossibilita de estar já a trabalhar em próxima edições, até porque já há coisas preparadas. Em breve!

Obrigado ao Dennis pelo dia, pela disponibilidade, e acima de tudo pela dedicação a este projecto do seu Citroen C2, que não é muito visto, neste estilo de personalização, pelas terras lusas. Nunca é demais frisar que sem o apoio dos donos, nada disto seria possível.
