The Twilight Zone [Intro Sequence]

In my third year of college I was given an assignment to reimagine the intro sequence for The Twilight Zone. I began by establishing a mood board, I wanted this intro sequence to portray the constant looming fears of nuclear war from a post war time mind.
I made a starscape in Photoshop.
Once made I made it black and white to help reflect the eery post war time vibe.
I pieced together a basic story board to help me get an idea of what shots will be used and the duration of each. For the title cards I used Travelling Typewriter and altered the kerning and leading manually to give it a janky, old world movie theater aesthetic.
I shot the opening scene in my old secondary school, De La Salle. I changed the colour levels and added an overlay, this scene fades to black and leads to a moving shot of the starscape with overlays of missiles going off, old American animations and bombs dropping. Once done a few stars become clear and have constellation lines appear, reading The Twilight Zone. This is followed by the title cards popping into view in sync with The Twilight Zone Theme. Just before the final card which contains the episode name can appear, what looks like a CRT TV turning off.
