Crime Drama T.V Posters | Typographical Project
This project that began earlier last week was inspired by my interest in the front cover of a book entitled Anuario de Arte Visual do Brasil by Oscar Gosso (originally published in 1967), with the front cover itself being designed by an artist known as Eduardo A. Bretones, to create a selection of posters that promote some very well known crime-based television shows.

The idea was to take the visual style used on the front cover and modernise it in such a way that would bring a lot more colour and depth to the text and background, as well as a whole new direction in terms of how the text and the illustrations would interact with each other.

A lot of effects have been added to the new designs to ensure that there is a sufficient amount of homage to the originals, especially considering how important it is for the viewers to see the connection between the old and the new as easily as possible.

The four final chosen shows that are included within this project are Miami Vice (1984 -1989), The Bill (1984 – 2010), Murder, She Wrote (1984 -1996), and Hawaii Five-0 (2010 – present). Monk (2002 – 2009) was also included, by dropped during concept designs.

So, be sure to tell me what you think in the comment section below!
