Art is Triumph MoMA Advertising

This advertisement is for a Jackson Pollock Exhibition in the Museum of Modern Art.

The quote was chosen as a play on Pollock's chaotic style. In order to create this piece I physically built the structure in the poster. I created this using foam board, a frame, glue and paint. The type on the structure is anamorphic, viewing it from different angles changes the visibility of the text. I took this picture at an angle to show it in a middle ground between being legible and non-apparent.

I wanted to give a hint of Pollock's work by overlaying his painting "Convergence." I put the MoMA logo in the corner in a light gray to not detract from the image and to draw the viewer in to look closer, like one would do in an art gallery.

I chose to overlay a Pollock painting because his style for creating art was chaotic yet beautiful and it really spoke for the quote. In the corner is the full quote of the piece. I put it small and to the side so the viewer has to really move closer to understand the poster and interact with it as if it were art in a gallery.
