Virtual Reality Custom Gesture Input UE4

This is a continued project from my Masters in Interactive Media. It involves exploring new areas of interaction and navigation for the expanding mediums of Virtual and Augmented reality. There is some focus on the purpose of the UI and interactions using gestures.
This project was developed with support from Logitech and presented at their international consortium in Switzerland in 2015.
For this, I used Unreal Engine 4.4, before the addition of 3D UMG or the native Leap Motion support. The gestures (pointing, Dio) are programmed through the Blueprints interface in Unreal Engine
Tech rundown:
- Windows 7/8.1
- Oculus Rift DK2 with SDK 0.4.2
- Leap Motion Controller (Table mounted, possible to HMD mount), API 2+
- Unreal Engine 4.3 - 4.4 with Blueprints
- Plugin: Leap Motion for Unreal Engine 4 by getnamo. github.com/getnamo/leap-ue4
- Goblin model: Mixamo Animation pack for Unreal Engine
All other elements (images, sounds) are property of their rightful owners and were obtained through a simple online search.
