Jake Blake hopes to impart normalcy and even beauty upon otherwise unnerving subjects through his intimate portrayal of the grotesque. The hard, antiseptic lighting draws the twisted subjects from textured shadows. His carnal figures of sex and death are propped up with an insistent presence, all treated as realities from which we hide our dismiss as abnormal.
