Reclining chair

Inspired by the stabilizing nature of tension, this piece of seating furniture offers astonishing comfort with a simple form of construction. Wooden rods are assembled similar to the structure of traditional log  cabins. Tension straps as used for securing heavy loads function both as strucutural elements and seating surface. Twelve such straps distribute the weight of the user throughout the frame.

The intention was to develop a chair based on simple assembly, lightweight materials and an open construction. Moreover, it is ready for flatpack shipping as only a few elements need to be preassembled.
