Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek

This is a project for a 6th grade history class. The original idea came from Dr. Chris Deason of Full Sail University. I took images from the Seminole Indian website and incorporated them into a game. This was a fun, yet detailed project.
Each slide has a structure that is found at The Pioneer Village. I added multiple choice  questions that are relative to the picture. If the student answers the question correctly, they will earn a feather for their Indian headdress. It took some time trying to design a game that I would actually use in a classroom.
Once the student has answered all the questions correctly, they will have received the feathers for their headdress and essential items for their camp. It took a lot of thought to come up with a game where the player could win some badges (feathers and essential supplies) as they played the game.
This short video at the beginning of the game gives the students instructions on how to play the game and what they're rewards will be. This was quit a challenging project because I was using a video from one project and turning it into a playable game for another.
This is the actual game in action. Notice how the student will get a "wrong answer"  screen if they answer the question incorrectly. I had never used Keynote to design a game and it was difficult knowing how to return to the previous slide. I used a YouTube Keynote tutorial to teach me how to turn a Keynote presentation into a game. This project was completed as I had planned, however, I really wanted to make it more detailed and longer.
