North Bristol Art Trail proves successful for another year

Bristol held the North Bristol Art Trail on November 28 and 29 across a range of locations to give its resident art enthusiasts a taste of fine creativity. The trail was a huge success, with art pieces having sold in 50 different locations ranging from schools and churches across Bishopston, Redland, St Andrews, Montpelier, and Westbury Park.
One of the public-popular artworks was done by the calligraphic Printmaker, Angela Holland, an alumnus of Roehampton University, who exhibited her creativity at St. Andrew’s Church Bishopston. She sold six of her art pieces during the Trail and her work featured uplifting verses from the Bible as well as inspiring quotes from prominent personalities, which were carved into Japanese plywood or lino.
Commenting on the significance of the Trail, Angela said, “For hobby driven or full-time professional artists like me, the Trail has given the scope to connect with people who appreciate different forms of art and show an interest in knowing more about the subject.”
Before taking part as one of the artists in the Art Trail, Angela had contributed artwork to Royal United Hospital, Bath, Spike Print Studio, Watershed, Wells Museum, and many other exhibitions in the South West. The North Bristol Art Trail gave artists like her, who are recognized nationally or locally, a creative platform and a unique opportunity to display their work to members of the public.
In Angela Holland’s words, “I look forward to the Art Trail every year. I think it’s a great opportunity to meet with like-minded people, people who try to give something to their community through the form of art.”
“The Art Trail is a very traditional artistic event in the city. I am thrilled to see the creative and fascinating artworks by different artists every year. It is amazing how much effort the artists contribute here,” said Liz Timms, a regular annual visitor of the North Bristol Art Trail.
The North Bristol Art Trail has been running for 13 years and allows both first-timers as well as professionals to showcase their work, and also featured live music performances by various local artists, helping promote creativity in Bristol for yet another year.
Angela Holland, overwhelmed by the success of the event, said, “The experience of the Trail has given me an opportunity to challenge my own creativity, learn new skills, and ready myself for next year’s trail with even more eccentric and extraordinary art pieces.”
