“ If on arriving at Trude I had not read the city’s name written in big letters,
I would have thought I was landing at the same airport from which I had taken off. (…)
The world is covered by the sole Trude, which does not begin, nor end.
Only the name of the airport changes.”
Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities

In a globalized world, are the cities becoming all the same?
The relation between geographical places, cultural identity and architecture is what drives the development of Random City. In this series, different places are mixed together creating a new scenario that tricks viewer´s eyes when trying to identify where it is. Although the collage is evident and there is no aim to hide it, it is not clear, at a first sight, if it is all from the same place in different moments, or where one ends and the next begins. The collages carry the idiosyncrasies of so many cities that have gone through rapid growth or periods of colonialism that, later on, reappears in a spontaneous auto-colonialism lead by architecture trends and development desires. In this ever-growing collage-city, we no longer know what is real or invented, deconstructed by memory or constructed by imagination.
