Scientific American Project.

I was recently approached by Scientific American magazine to create an editorial image for one of their articles. The article is about giving NASA the freedom to set it's own agenda, without politics interfering. Which basically meant I got to draw space stuff! So, I was in!
I was given a rough version of the article to work from, and I quickly drew up some super rough concepts, playing off the idea of NASA being shackled, or held back. Once they picked a direction, I started drawing in Adobe Illustrator. The final image was going be fairly small (3"x4"), so I wanted to keep it simple and graphic.
