History:
Developed from the initial response to hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. From the success of this program, many other DoD departments commissioned our team to utilize the template-based system. Requirements differed from one organization to another, but the system architecture, OOP implementation and separate branding and style sheet directories allows for quick template creation and mirroring for standing up new systems, to meet each organization's unique and specific needs.
"Your immediate and innovative response provided critical support to our commands in need during frightening conditions in chaotic times.  Efforts in Task Force Navy Family establish a new standard in family care following a disaster."

Personnel Accountability and Assessment System
Yellow Ribbon around Navy Family.

Navy Family Accountability and Assessment System (NFAAS) standardizes a method for the Navy to account, assess, manage, and monitor the recovery process for personnel and their families affected and/or scattered by a wide-spread catastrophic event. NFAAS provides valuable information to all levels of the Navy chain of command, allowing commanders to make strategic decisions which facilitate a return to stability.

NFAAS allows Navy Personnel to do the following:

The thumbs up was rarely used on the Web in 2005, but it was a perfectly logical choice to use the widely applicable gesture. In this case it was used to indicate a person's or family's status:"Your good!" or "all clear".  People always thought my "thumbs up" was funny and unconventional until Facebook arrived later.
