Young people are often told how we're supposed to live our lives. What constitutes what's doing well in life and what isn't. There's so much pressure on us to be perfect and be making progress every single day.

A lot of us have responded to the pressure & anxiety with memes making fun of how bad we feel we are at life. Jokes around bank cards being declined, not having enough money for a proper meal, being bad at relationships etc.

Through a conversation with a close friend, I came up with this idea of creating something that celebrates the small wins but still reminds us how far we have to go to be a "proper" adult. Hence the title of the work.

Our debit orders cleared, but we still don't know our bank account number. This contrast is what makes being a young adult so challenging but the point is we're all okay & doing just fine. Regardless of the countless articles about millennials being this or being that. 

You're Okay Even When You're Not.
