Making Art with Snapchat's Spectacles
After weeks playing with circular video format from Spectacles, now I become understand how it will help us to create a new creative artsy way of video storytelling. When it shows on Snapchat, we can rotate the device to see the video in vertical & horizontal format, which is lead to different approach how we tell story with art.

Rotation as the part of the story
An idea to create interaction to the story by adding rotation.
First page & second page
Vertical is the default position when we watch video on smartphone/mobile device. And horizontal is the secondary position. This gives us a concept of first page & second page of story.
In circular video, the vertical shows a plain view of building. But when we rotate to horizontal, second visual message appear: Spiderman!
Similar to the previous Spiderman video, this video also gives a second story. In vertical, it shows the King Kong on top of Empire State Building. In horizontal, it gives a title or information.
Create animation with Specatcles?
With Spectacles, we can do quick snap recording - press to record & immediately press + hold to stop record - with the result 14-18 frames recorded in one snap or less than a second. The maximum batch for upload is 20 snaps. So if the animation has more than 20 snaps, then we have have to upload it manually one by one. I tried to create animation with 30+ snaps and the app keeps crashing :D
Making a Spectacles art
I made some DIY mounts/rigs to put the Spectacles on tripod. Because, basically Spectacles is a camera. And it doesn't have to be in our face to shot video :)
