A friend of mine runs a DIY and style blog where the general style is cute and japanese lolita centred. She wanted a blog banner, youtube banner and facebook page icon so she commissioned me to design it. The aesthetic she wanted was vintage shoujo style - 60s girl manga where eye's where the most detailed and rest of details are floating.

Here's the process of the work!

I sent this sketch to her and she wished to only have the sleeves visible rather than her arms

And then I sketched the design onto paint tool sai, she wanted a framed circle with all of her personal favouite things like shiba inu dogs, moomins, retro gaming, cute food like cakes, frogs and classic mahou shouji anime like CardCaptor Sakura

Here's the first version with full colour and detail and then I corrected it to her wishes with paler eyes and more pastel shade 

And here's the final version with text of her blog and my waterark of my facebook art page, Sarah and the Holograms. She was super happy with the final result!
