Stahl House
Analyzation
Afterwards, we had to choose two unit floor plans from an Atlanta high-rise. Just using the shell of the floor plans, we had to create a home that was reminiscent of the house we analyzed.

When analyzing The Stahl House, i realized that everything was on a grid system. Looking at the main footprint of the house, the rooms and walls along the top (picture below) were all 20'x20' sq. It is the same with the walls and rooms along the right side (picture below), until you get to the very bottom, that measures 10'x20'. Inside the 20'x20' grid, the main interior walls were separating the rooms at 10'. Each area that I analyzed was in some proportion on this same system.

Pierre Koenig created this house on a site that looked out onto the city of Los Angeles and created a very open floor plan with large windows where the view could be seen from many areas of the home. The roof he created, shadowed crucial areas of the home during different times of the day. The house he created was very simplistic and minimal. I incorporated these qualities and ideas when designing this condo in the already existing shell.
