The Golden Bird: Audio Track

PORTFOLIO PIECE 4
Title:  The Golden Bird – A Grimm Brothers Tale
Media Type: Audio/Narration/Voiceover
Purpose: To record, edit and produce a 5-minute innovative take on a Grimm Brother tale using voiceover, narration, sound effects and music.

Choosing the Golden Bird for my project was a given since my last name is Bird. I thought it interesting and sparked my imagination. The project began by shortening the story to fit into the 5-minute time restriction. Sorting out the key elements to tell the story fully while deciding on characters, sound effects and music all contributed to the process.
The narration was recorded in Garageband and edited with music, voice-overs and sound effects to create a thoroughly immersive audio experience. Learning how to use the EQ, Compression and other aspects of Garageband enhanced my performance and allowed me to create an interesting, attention grabbing audio piece. The two images below reflect my adjustments to the narration audio and the music audio. Since the music was adjusted to pan slightly to one channel, I wanted to ensure that each track had their own EQ frequencies.
Since the script of the story was much longer than the time allotted for this project, I initially started with the outline below. This outline captures the the timing for each section of voice over and the related musical compositions that accompany the voice.
